Soak it in, ladies and gents. That right there is a behind the scenes photo of Minnesota Vikings punter, Chris Kluwe, shooting a commercial for Wrangler. Brett Favre is behind the camera, nodding approvingly, gingerly tossing a football from hand to hand, waiting for Kluwe’s shoot to finish so they can just go and sling the old pig skin around with a couple of bros from the block, jumping in the mud, and having a good time. Just classic Bre….
Oh, wait. No. Nope. This is actually a picture that Kluwe has attached to an interview he did for OUT Magazine, highlighting his recent comments that have sprouted up all over the internet in support of gay marriage, against the gay marriage amendment, and largely just calling a cock monster a cock monster when he sees one. Straight shooting, I like it.
Kluwe continues to be outspoken on this issue (and many others, like the replacement refs, and Kick for a Cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, etc.), but also continues to have a sense of humor about himself. We first saw this photo thanks to @AndrewReiner, member of Tripping Icarus, the band Kluwe is a member of, and they shared this funny exchange about the photo:
Kluwe’s probably right, in his sarcastic way. I’m sure some teammates will give him shit about this photo, but what … Is it any worse than Tom Brady holding a goat? No way. And Kluwe’s photo is attached with a much bigger issue. I think Brady was just in GQ. But, whatever. He still looked sexy a hell.
