The Vikings are a weird team this year.
Last week, I wasn’t sure which forehead to smush with a poop-dick stamp because everyone on the team did pretty awful. This week? Well, as we covered in our recap yesterday, technically we won, but it’s like every single person just did a little bit of enough for me to not hate them, to not lose the game, and to “grit out” a super ugly game against a super ugly team.
So whatever, I’ll give it to Anthony Barr.
Not like he doesn’t deserve it. I mean, all this guy has done as a rookie that everyone hated is lead the team in tackles so far this year, is 3rd on the team in sacks, 4th in passes defended, tied for first in fumble recoveries, tied for first in defensive touchdowns, and received in A+ in “ZERO FUCKS GIVEN” because people are jerks. And of course he had a defensive touchdown walk-off against the Bucs, after he stripped the ball to force a fumble, picked it up, and then ran it in for a touchdown. Not bad for a day’s work.
You have to wonder at this point if he’s up for the defensive rookie of the year award. How many tackles would he have to get? Could he get over 100? He’s on pace for it. He’d be the first guy to lead the team in tackles since Chad Greenway over the last baker’s dozen years, right? That’s fairly noteworthy.
Either way, I like watching him succeed (even though I hated his ass in college), and like stupid ass Vikings fans eating crow because they don’t understand the college game anymore because they’re too stupid watching Gophers football. Those people are the worst.
