PJD’s Week 16 Recap: Only Acknowledging Teddy

Yes, I know the Vikings lost on Sunday. Yes, I know HOW they lost on Sunday. Yes, I know most people are tearing into a certain unit on the team like it’s a virgin asshole meeting the Incredible Hulk.

I, however, will not be doing that today. Instead, I will be focusing on the positive for a change, because I will wait to create my own collection of anal fissures tomorrow, when we do a fancy little Mushroom Stamp of Disapproval post. Guess which coach will be awarded with it??!

But how about some good notes?

– Teddy Bridgewater once again played really well. In fact, he did a couple of things on Sunday that made the stiff parts of my pants move. His touchdown throw to Greg Jennings took my breath away, as did his almost-TD to Ford or whoever caught that one. Teddy looked fucking LEGIT Sunday, and bodes well for the future.

– I fucking hate Matt Asiata. I’m just going to say it. I guess this isn’t a positive from Sunday, but people wanna rub themselves off all day long talking about how Asiata is such a bruiser, and is the PERFECT player you need on your team at running back. Fuck that. You know what would be better? If a god damn MVP was back there averaging 5.0 yards per attempt for his career instead of some guy who “tries hard” and averages 3.4 on a good day. You fucking liars, drop this Asiata bullshit.

– Greg Jennings played in a way that didn’t make me super upset that I have a signed jersey of his. So that was nice. Couple of sweet hand catches. And a great smile, of course.

– Anyone else see Antone Exum Jr. out there today? That was a surprise. I didn’t know he even made it back to the team this year. Good for him. Maybe he’ll do something some day.

– I hope Charles Johnson gets a Greg Jennings contract this offseason.

– Also a Jarius Wright fan. Little scrappy SOB.

– Harrison Smith should have had an interception, certainly, but the one that he DID actually have was pretty enjoyable. Also, the fact that he puts so much of the defensive failings on his shoulders really pisses me off. I don’t know why the defense ends up blowing leads like it’s a Bang Bros video every week, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth like a Bang Bros video would.

– I can only imagine what this team – offense and defense – will look like next year with another season under Zimmer’s schemes and belt. At the very least, we will for sure not be worse than the Bears, again.

One more week to go. Kind of sad. It was at times an enjoyable year of football, while also incredibly frustrating. But, things to look foolishly bright for the future! So, call me an optimist. Until tomorrow.
