The search for the 23rd pick for the Minnesota Vikings rolls on and this week we will be looking at Notre Dame’s wide receiver Will Fuller. Fuller is one of the fastest in the 2016 NFL Draft class. He averaged 20.3 yards per catch for Notre Dame as a junior and had 1,258 yards and 14 touchdowns and 15 touchdowns in 2014.
Fuller’s speed and body control could help the Vikings 29th ranked passing game as he averaged 20.3 yards per catch last year. But it’s also his knowledge of when to use that speed that gives Fuller a leg up from other wide receivers. Not to mention that his 33.5” vertical leap for is a major bonus.
Fuller is a deep threat, which is something the Vikings could benefit from but he has some catching issues. Fuller is 6’0”, 180 lbs and in the age of bigger cornerbacks that could be a problem for the “smaller” Fuller. He also has some doesn’t have the steadiest of hands which is kind of important for receivers.
The Vikings could work with Fuller and he definitely has potential, but having Stefon Diggs, Cordarrelle Patterson and Jarius Wright may be all the work the Vikings need.
