Francisco Liriano has struggled all year in his attempt to make a full return from Tommy John surgery. What that probably means is that the Pittsburgh Pirates are just what the doctor ordered. We made Glen Perkins look good last night and Liriano seems to slowly be turning the corner in his past few starts. He’ll face Ian Snell, who’s been marginally better since Charlie Morton threat emerged to his rotation spot.
The Twins absolutely teed off on Paul Maholm last night and if Snell struggles with his control, they’ll probably do the same to him. Even if he doesn’t struggle with his control, he probably won’t get Joe Mauer out. I’d just focus on the other eight guys if I were Snell.
