I’ll do a one-shot recap round up when game 2 is over tonight, but from what I could tell Dan McCutchen seemed to be pretty good in his big league debut, especially given that he gave up a homer to the first batter he faced, fellow rookie Drew Stubbs. Losing on a walk-off wild pitch always sucks, though.
Game 2 is at the regular 7:10 PM start time with Paul Maholm facing a just-off-the-DL Johnny Cueto. Why bring back a young pitcher with a pile of innings and a hip problem so quickly this late in the year? Ask Dusty Baker!
