Quick WHYGAVS scheduling outline: the final, big, sweeping season preview post is probably going to go live some time Sunday night. Until then, I’ll update with the news (final roster cuts, etc.) over the weekend. Monday, the season’s first gamethread with a new twist I’ve been kicking around will go live kind of early (say, 11ish). I know everyone still hates the comments, but I’m working on it for the season.
Speaking of news, Virgil Vasquez was traded to the Rays today for a PTBNL. Which means he’ll be pitching in Durham this year. Oh, joy.
Finally, I just wanted to make note of the PBC Blog moving to PG+ pay site on May 1st. I’ve seen a few people say things like, “Why would anyone pay for this when the other blogs (meaning sites like this one) are free?” The truth is that without hard working reporters like Dejan Kovacevic (or Rob Biertempfel or Jen Langosch, for that matter), blogs like mine can’t exist. There will always be a need for the services that good newspaper writers and reporters supply. Remember that the internet is still in its relative infancy as a content-providing medium. It’s true that mostly everything is free now, but that doesn’t mean that it’s always going to be that way.
