Even more so than in year’s past, it’s almost impossible to turn on a game this season and not see an ex-Pirate. Last night, I watched Ian Snell pitch six strong innings against the A’s (note: against the A’s) then as the game went into extra innings, Jack Wilson belted a ball into the left-center gap only to be robbed of a hit by Rajai Davis. Had I been interested, I could’ve put on the Padres to watch Chris Young pitch six one-hit innings, partially aided by Adam LaRoche’s 0-for-4, two-strikeout performance.
Don’t mistake what I’m saying here; the only time I thought, “I kinda miss that guy” was when Jack Wilson turned a double play. But ex-Pirates really are everywhere. It’s probably best for everyone involved, though, that they’re no longer all in the same place.
