(See what I did there with the title? Clever, if I do say so myself.) Ross Ohlendorf returns to the Pirates’ rotation tonight against Bronson Arroyo and the Reds at Great American Ballpark in Cincy PNC Park in Pittsburgh. He hasn’t pitched since his only start of the season back on April 7th because of back spasms. Jeff Karstens is headed to the bullpen after some nice service in the rotation and Brian Bass is headed to Indianapolis.
For Ohlendorf, the things to watch are the same as they were before the season started; velocity, strikeouts, and groundball/flyball. He needs all of those things to improve to become a better pitcher in 2010. Obviously it might be a lot to expect him to be sharp right off the bat after missing so much time, but these things are all still important.

With Andrew McCutchen and Garrett Jones taking down Clemente honors and Paul Maholm and Jeff Clement taking home Cangelosis, there were a lot of points going on and coming off of the scoreboard yesterday.
