The Pirates are terrible against the American League, so maybe it’s a good thing that they almost always get one of the “off” series against an NL team every year when interleague play starts up. Instead of getting trounced by an AL club, the Pirates get to play the scorching hot (winners of 8 of 10) Braves. Tonight is a Ross Ohlendorf start, which is always worth watching while the Braves send out the revitalized (well, in terms of ERA and WHIP if not strikeouts and walks, so maybe we can give him some regression tonight) Tim Hudson.
First pitch at PNC is at 7:05. Clemente/Cangelosi is after the jump.
Not sure what this is? Check here and here. Short version: in the comments pick the Pirates you think will be most and least valuable in today’s game. If you haven’t jumped aboard yet, it’s been a lot of fun so far and now’s as good a time as any to join in.
Barely any action in the standings after last night’s game, as Steve Pearce’s two-run first inning triple made him the game’s Clemente and only michaelbro8 properly prognosticated that, while Ryan Doumit’s pinch hit HBP made him number two on the list, as he represented the tying run in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Cangelosis were Delwyn Young and Garrett Jones, who were picked by no one.
