I’m always amazed by how quickly things swing in a baseball season, given how long the seasons are. Just a few days ago the Pirates had taken a win from the Phillies and one from the Brewers and I think we all felt pretty good about how they were playing. Now they’ve lost one to the Brewers and two to the Braves it feels like they’re tumbling pretty quickly right now. With seven on the road that includes four in Cincinnati and three more against this Atlanta club, the capacity for things to get really ugly really fast certainly exists.
Zach Duke gets to try and stem the tide today four days after shutting down the Phillies and taking a win from Roy Halladay. He faces the young Kris Medlen, who’s been excellent so far in 2010. First pitch is at 1:35, Clemente/Cangelosi is after the jump.

Since yesterday’s game was close, there were some swings up and down through the game but the final C/C result is probably what you’d expect. Ryan Church was 3/3 and scored a run, so he’s the first Clemente and Lastings Milledge was 3/5 with an RBI triple and he scored the other run, so he’s Clemente #2. Garrett Jones and Bobby Crosby went a combined 0/9 so they pull Cangelosi honors.
The only point movement comes from the people who had Garrett Jones as yesterday’s Clemente, and there were four that see negative movement as a result. The standings:
