There are two ways to approach today’s game; either the Pirates are trying to bounce back after losing the first game back from the All-Star Breka in which one of their worst starters pitched, or they’re on yet another seven-game losing streak. I like to think of it the first way, but after about two innings I’m guessing the Pirates will have changed my mind.
First pitch tonight is 7:05. Ross Ohlendorf and the incredibly wild Bud Norris are on the mound. Clemente/Cangelosi is after the break.
After taking so much time to explain how everything works yesterday, I appear to have forgotten to explain the scoring to anyone unsure of how it works. If your Clemente pick finishes with the highest WPA in the game, you get two points. If he has the second highest WPA, you get one. The same goes for your Cangelosi. If your Clemente pick is the game’s Cangelosi, or vice versa, then you lose one point.
Last night, the Clementes were Andrew McCutchen and Andy LaRoche while DJ Carrasco and Ronny Cedeno were the Cangelosis. All of the +1s you see were Cedeno picks, but only our first half champ Don picked McCutchen. Which means he’s winning again.
