This is an exciting series

Is there anything left to say about a Pirates/Astros series at this point? The Pirates have been playing terribly on the road (again) and are trying to strike a balance between the best pick in the 2011 draft and not demoralizing whatever’s left of the fanbase with lifeless play at the end of 2010. Actually, “strike a balance” isn’t the right term; at this point it sure looks like they’re going for that top pick. That’s all well and good, I guess, but they’re sure not intersting to watch or talk about right now.

First pitch tonight is 8:05. Ross Ohlendorf, who nearly picked up his second win last Saturday before the bullpen imploded on him, tries again tonight against Brett Myers. Clemente/Cangelosi is after the jump.

Not sure what this is? Check here and here. Short version: in the comments pick the Pirates you think will be most and least valuable in today’s game. If you haven’t jumped aboard yet, it’s been a lot of fun so far and now’s as good a time as any to join in.

James McDonald’s bad start killed a lot of people on Wednesday, but last night‘s weird start-time and the Pirates’ recent ineptness limited us to two entries, neither of which scored.
