You know, sometimes when it’s a really long day at work I like to just sit down for a second and remind myself that Jose Tabata is hitting .362/.391/.477 since the All-Star Break. Yeah, his BABIP is way high in that span (.406), but I was worried he was going to struggle a bit in Triple-A this season and instead he’s been doing a credible Ichiro impersonation since July started. Obviously there are some questions about how his power will translate since such a high batting average probably isn’t sustainable, but it’s hard not to like that from a guy that just turned 22 two weeks ago.
