McDonald and the Brewers

The Pirates roll into their least favorite place on the planet tonight with more momentum than they’ve seemingly had going anywhere in months thanks to two wins over the suddenly floundering Cardinals. On top of that they send James McDonald, their best starter this month, to the mound to try and stretch the winning streak to three. McDonald had some real control issues against the Mets last weekend, which made his last start his worst in a Pirate uniform. Tonight marks just his second start away from PNC; hopefully he’ll be able to find a groove on the road.

I know that most of the focus is on the Race for Rendon at this point, but man, it’d be nice to see the young guys rack up a bunch of hits and beat the Brewers, wouldn’t it? Chris Narveson goes for Milwaukee, first pitch is at 8:10. Clemente/Cangelosi is below the fold.

Not sure what this is? Check here and here. Short version: in the comments pick the Pirates you think will be most and least valuable in today’s game. If you haven’t jumped aboard yet, it’s been a lot of fun so far and now’s as good a time as any to join in.

Working on it.
