For the third straight Sunday, the Pirates have a chance to finish a sweep. They failed against the Tigers and Cubs and in order to do it today they’re going to have to beat Roy Halladay. The good news for the Bucs is that they get to send James McDonald to the mound today and he’s been pretty good in the last month or so. If he can follow Karstens and Morton up with a third straight strong start, the Bucs should have a chance against the reining Cy Young winner.
We’re just three days removed from the embarrassing seven-run blown lead and the Pirates have a chance to get back to .500 in June against Roy Halladay with a sweep against the Phillies in front of some huge crowds at PNC Park. I know I don’t think being .500 right now is a huge deal, but a win today would be pretty sweet.
First pitch today is at 1:35.
