After three consecutive nights of almost no offense from either team in Atlanta, I have a feeling that the Kevin Correia/Derek Lowe matchup may bring something a little different. Correia’s been pretty terrible lately and with another bad start I’m going to start campaigning for Brad Lincoln to take his spot in the rotation. Lowe has a 5.84 ERA since mid-June. Unfortunately a higher-offense environment probably doesn’t help the Bucs that much, but I’d be surprised to see another 2-1 game or another 15 straight innings without scoring.
The first pitch tonight is at 7:10. The Pirates don’t need a win to stay in contention, per se, but they really, really could use one.
