#Pirates to activate Gorkys Hernandez.

One of my all-time biggest pet peeves is how National League teams think that “designated hitter” means “put a really crappy hitter in the field and make the guy he replaces the designated hitter.” In parts of two seasons with Indianapolis, Gorkys has hit .279/.347/.383.
On the plus side, Gorkys immediately becomes one of the best named Pirates in history and putting him in the outfield alongside Andrew McCutchen, even if it’s just for the weekend, should be awfully fun to watch. Gorkys both covers a ton of ground and has a CANNON, which is something that’s currently missing from the Pirate outfield. On the down side, yeah, he’s not a good hitter and so Andrew McCutchen will remain the only viable offensive threat on the entire roster.
