But since [replay] is something brand new, and this is the first we’re seeing of it in action, it’s worth exploring — if not to judge the calls, then at least to see how the still-new process worked in its first day.
Obviously I think this is going to be something that bears watching all year. The amount of time that the replays take and the way that managers wander out on the field waiting for a thumbs up from a coach in the dugout is something that will particularly be worth paying attention to, because game flow (think of the last minute of an NCAA tournament game this year with the incessant review) and abuse of the system are two unknowns here.
