#Rays complete S-Rod trade by getting RHP Buddy Borden from #Pirates

I will admit to knowing almost nothing about Buddy Borden, other than that he was a 2013 draft pick of the Pirates. Borden was, in fact, the Pirates seventh round pick out of UNLV in 2013, and so the first thing that I noticed about him is that even though he was a college player picked in the 2013 draft, he hasn’t pitched above West Virginia. That means that in all likelihood he was going to open 2015 as a 23-year old in advanced-A.
Anyway, you can check out Pirate Prospects for more on Borden. Tim obviously isn’t a fan of the deal and Borden does have some upside, but I think that the way the Pirates have slow-rolled Borden to this point is noticeable and I’d default towards giving the team the benefit of the doubt here.
