Games this week:
@ Memphis: 18 pts (8-12 fg), 9 ast, 1 stl, 2 reb
Philadelphia: 13 pts (5-8 fg), 10 ast, 3 stl, 2 reb
Rondo has emerged as a steady hand to lead the Celtics offensively and defensively. Against Memphis, he showed a confidence in a jump shot that he was dared to take. He rewarded us by only missing 4 of the 12 shots he took. While there weren't many bright spots against Philly, Rondo still put his teammates in a position to win. What if Kevin Garnett had converted that perfect alley oop with :23 left and drained the free throw for 3 point play? Then the Brand tip in would have tied the game, rather than won it. While KG had good numbers in the end, his 5-14 shooting night against Philly cost him this award… and made Rajon Rondo our first ever "Player of the Week" winner.
