There were more than a few people… this little guy chief among them… who didn't want to hear the news that Eddie House was traded.
There's been a lot of talk about what Eddie isn't… which is fine. It's not entirely wrong.
But let's, for a moment, thank Eddie for what he is.
When the Celtics won the title, it was Eddie who rose above all the searching for a back-up point guard to help put the Celtics bench over the top. It was Eddie who hit the shot in Game 4 that gave the Celtics the lead after that epic comeback in LA.
But we know all that stuff. We know Eddie had the role of sharpshooter on this team and he filled it well. When he was asked to do more, he did it without complaint. He did it to the best of his ability. And he did it with maximum effort.
Isn't that all we ever really want out of an athlete?
So thanks, Eddie House. You helped Boston celebrate a championship. You're forever part of the legend…. and deservedly so.
