Hello Followers. Hope you had an enjoyable weekend!
Well, as for me, Saturday came and went without much of a fuss. As expected and predicted, our little boys were no match for the big, strong manly men of the University of Arizona. And because of the 48-7 slaying we experienced with the Pac-10’s co-front runner, we might have lost Tuel for what should be our last chance at a competitive game against the Ruins. In addition, our depleted secondary got even more banged up, including our 7,000th broken leg of the season.
Want to read more about what we have on tap in the coming weeks, months, and years? Then read on…
So, what can a Cougar fan do about this season, next season, or beyond? The answer is simple, my friends: BRING IN SOME JUNIOR COLLEGE TRANSFERS!
Folks, I know that JC players don’t help you build a winning program over the longhaul—or even the short term for that matter. But watching this season and the last shows a ridiculously futile pattern: Our kids aren’t fast enough, and they are not strong enough to compete with ANYONE at the D-1A level. And because of that, they don’t get better in practice—and that is why you are all so damn frustrated with these performances in games!
Moreover, because they don’t get better in practice, and because they are TOO SLOW AND TOO SMALL to compete in games, they get hurt. Consequently, while we start the season with guys that are barely competetive, we’re ending the season with guys that shouldn’t even be on the field!
In simplest terms, there is no recipe for us to get better until we infuse talent into this program that allows us to get better both on the practice field AND on Saturdays as well… Given the depths to which this program has fallen, JC talent is the only way to do that.
So, with our last 6 or 7 allowed slots, it’s time to stock the cupboards with Defensive Tackles and Offensive linemen to go with a nice portion of Rankin on the side (or defensive end)
Without such an infusion, we’re going to see the same results next year—or worse—because our schedule is going to get more difficult.
This is now beyond a monumental climb back to respectability, folks. If Wulff doesn’t bring in MEN now, next year is going to be another lost cause (as in 2 wins TOPS). It’s getting close to the point where recruits may want to throw in the towel on Wulff and the program. JC’s are our now a vital part of helping us show real improvement in 2010 as well as makign a making a surge toward respectability in 2011.
So, bring those JC boys in, coaches.
And remember to enjoy your week–its almost basketball season!!!!!!!!
