WSU Gameday Flag-Spotting, Week Two

WSU Gameday Flag-Spotting, Week Two

Happy flag-spotting Saturday Cougs, and yes, it just continues.  Another week, another flag-spotting moment on ESPN Gameday.  That’s Whitey, front-n-center, in excellent position down in Tuscaloosa.  And Crimson made it too, as you can see here:

Not a great shot on the one of Herbie with the major squint going on, but you can see Crimson rising from right behind his mug.  I have to apologize for the low quality of the images, as again I grabbed them from channelsurfing.net.  But, I guess it’s better than nothing?

Speaking of the Coug flags, you’ve probably heard the news but WSU is going to honor Tom Pounds and the tradition of the flags today.  WSU will do a pregame deal for those who have been out there, proudly flying the flags on Gameday, every single week.  And hey, I see a few names on there, like Will and Stephanie Walker, people who have done the flag thing and also provide great screen shots of the flags.  And Andrew Panneck is a familiar name.  I talked to him four years ago back at the ‘ol AOL Fanhouse days, and he gave a quick rundown on his trip to Auburn.  Very cool.  Our hearts go out to you, Crimson soldiers.  Keep fighting the good fight out there.

Some other quick things out there today:

TV info is a hot topic.  The official WSU site gives it a rundown here, but basically it boils down to this:

1)  IF you have the Fox College Sports package on Comcast, it’s on FCSP (channel 415 in the Seattle area).  If you don’t have it, it’s like $7 a month extra to get the regional Fox Sports channels.  But you can cancel it at anytime, and it’s pro-rated, so it might not be a bad choice overall.
2)  IF you have the Dish Network, it’s showing up on channel 447.
3)  IF you have Direct TV, it’s showing up on channel 688.

But that’s not all.  The game is also showing on something called “Comcast Washington”, listed as channel 79?  I personally have never heard of “Comcast Washington”, and when I try channel 79 in my home I get some awful home shopping channel.  So I really have no idea, and I don’t know if I would rely on that if you are planning to watch it later today.  For what it’s worth, I did check channelsurfing.net, and while they have many games listed, WSU-Montana State didn’t show up.

All that said, the game is set to be rebroadcast tomorrow, 4:30 PM, on the regular old FSN.  So worst-case, you can catch it later on Sunday.

Finally, in your gameday links department, Grippi has you covered here (6:25 AM on a Saturday Grippi??  Major hat-tip your way).

We’ll be back after the game with some thoughts on what went down.  Enjoy your Saturday, and as always, GO COUGS!
