Congrats to the player once called the “MVP in the history of Washington State”, as Jason Gesser is coming home! Cougfan broke the story after Grippi reported on some kind of rumors or something like that, about him possibly coming back, but, now it’s official.
But as the story says, he’s not going to be an on-the-field coach, but an assistant to the coaches. And he is definitely giving up some things to make this change in his life:
“That’s how much that place means to me. This is a significant life change, leaving behind (E-C, FSN and the camps) and then also for a year, my family. I’ve got the greatest wife, she’s a Coug too and she understands my passion for that place, to have the opportunity to to pursue my dream, to get on at Washington State and work my way up,” said Gesser.
I know many have openly suggested in the past, around here and pretty much everywhere, how great it would be to get him back in the fold and hopefully one day recruiting student athletes to come to WSU. While he may not be an on-the-field coach next year, you know this is just a step in that direction. Welcome home Gesser!
