Always great to see the WSU flag flying proudly on ESPN Gameday! This makes show #109 that they’ve made the appearance, which continues to be some sort of unofficial record? I mean really, could any other school even approach the number of appearances of ‘ol Crimson and/or Whitey?!? Great job as usual by those on the ground, fighting the good fight across campuses and gameday locations across the country (and big thanks to Will Walker, who once again is grabbing the shots of the flag. Check out Will’s web album here.)
Speaking of fighting the good fight, our own LucasCoug and Longball are in Boulder, and will be tweeting updates throughout the day for today’s contest. Check out our twitter feed at @wazzufbblog, as they’ll do their best to give you the feel-n-flavor of today’s events.
Any new “feel” about today? I know we shared our thoughts on Thursday about what we think is going to happen, and you can put me in the “we’re going to lose” category. But I have to admit something……maybe it’s because it’s GAMEDAY and all, but I’m starting to like our chances more and more about pulling this thing off. Coming off a bye week rested and healed, and hopefully some new wrinkles on defense to clean some things up, and CU coming back from Columbus, it just might be set up to get a W. You can hash out the X’s and O’s to death, but it’s an emotional game played by kids and crazy things happen. Sometimes it’s the intangibles, the off-the-field stuff that makes all the difference. And here you have a rested, improved WSU team in Wulff’s fourth year vs a CU team with a brand new coaching staff, coming off a tough, physical loss last Saturday. We’ll see, but yeah, I’m starting to come around!
All for now. Enjoy the game, and GO COUGS!
