Hello Followers. Hope the Sky is Blue your way.
As for me, well, with a Winter Storm Warning in full effect in my neck of the woods, it seems that winter has returned.
And unfortunately, it has for Cougar basketball as well.
Yesterday, I told you all to enjoy what could be the final hours of WSU Basketball relevance. Of course, little did I know that such a fateful hour was upon us even if we won.

With emotions high, its always too easy to point fingers.
In this respect,
To be sure, the kids are quite accountable for their actions.
To be sure, the act of searching Casto’s apartment means that there is CLEARLY an effort to (a) Eradicate the pot problem in Pullman; and (b) To make athletes the example.
And to be sure, there is a culture problem with and within the program. And anyway you cut it, at the root of that problem is leadership. What kind, what source, and so forth is for you all to decide.

Two weeks ago, the news of Klay’s arrest, however grim, provided at least the semblance of a rallying cry for the team to try to “play on” without him.
But now, with the third POT offense in as many months, one has to think that the fellas are going to be pretty down to say the least.
That said, while I thought that Northwestern would beat us on Wednesday even with Casto, it is also important to remember that they are NOT UCLA.
And with Motum playing at his best, with Abe peeking through the Clouds, and with Klay playing his final game in Pullman, we may still be on our way.
The question now is “on our way to what?”

Last word for now: With a salary of between 750,000 and 850,000 a year, WSU is paying Ken Bone between 75,000 to 85,000 for every kid that plays in the program.
Now I ask you, if you are a parent who wants your kid to go to WSU so they can get away from the dangers of the city, what is your response going to be to this type of news? What is the benefit of WSU if we are not helping to inspire, groom, and develop young men of character?
Now, lets hope that we can summon an effort tomorrow night that will allow us to be something other than the laughing stock of the NW.
This certainly wasn’t the type of relevance I was looking for.
