The Bills coaching staff. For the first 55 minutes of the game, Dick Jauron was actually doing the unthinkable, he was out coaching Bill Belickick. The Bills game plan was what it should of been the last 11 times they’ve played the Pats. Defensively, get in Brady’s face and don’t give up the deep ball. Offensively, establish the run and use the Patriots concentrating on the wide receivers to get your backs and tight ends involved. But once the Patriots backs were against the wall, they brought their “A” game, while the Bills panicked.
Leading 24-13 with just over 5 minutes left, the Bills did exactly what they did the last 18 seconds of the Dallas game, they sat back in fear. And just like the end of the Cleveland game, when the Bills could of got more yardage for the field goal, they got scared. No more getting in Brady’s face and instead of blitzing, the Bills gave Brady all day. 3 minutes later, Brady marches the Pats down the field for a touchdown. No pressure, no wins.
After the McKelvin fumble, the Bills did the same thing. Played conservatively, actually more like scared. And bing, bam, boom, Pats take the lead. And to top it off, the Bills wasted a timeout after the ensuing kickoff. Wouldn’t you think the Bills would have their first offensive play planned out if the Pats scored. Again, panic, scared, choking, you pick it.
There’s a thing called clutch. The Bills don’t have that. Time and time again under Jauron, when the going got tough, Jauron and the Bills got scared. There’s an old saying, 1 is a mistake, 2 is a trend, 3 we have a problem. The Bills are way passed the problem, they need a fricken intervention. And if your intervention is led by someone who is the cause of the problem, you’re not going to get cured. Tick-tock for Jauron.
