Bills need to stop the run

OK let us get off the Leodis Lawnmower man saga for a minute. The Buccaneers are coming to town and most Bills fans seem to think this game should be a “W.” But this game is going to be closer than some fans seem to think. Even though the Bucs fired their head coach (Gruden) and cut their quarterback (Garcia) they were still only one win away from making the playoffs last year. The Bucs biggest strength on offense is their running game. They have a running back by committee, hell more like an army.

Cadillac Williams is their starter, who almost rushed for a 100 yards last week against a pretty good Dallas defense. Free agent acquisition, Derrek Ward is the all purpose back for the Bucs. He’s very dangerous for being able to catch the screen pass and turn it up field. He too is coming off a impressive game against the Cowboys, gaining almost 100 yards in total offense. After you get through those two guys, you get Earnest Graham, who btw would of gained over a 1,000 yards rushing last year had he not blown out his knee.

Their running attack worries me because they had their way with the Cowboys run defense. All due respect to the Bills defense, but Dallas is a lot better defensively. The Bills have to stop the run and let Byron Leftwich beat them. As old school strategy that may be, it will be a Bills fan dream to see the Bills be able to tee off on Leftwich. The former Marshall Product makes Drew Bledsoe look like Mike Vick in the pocket. He has a very slow delivery and can’t run to save his life. The Bills defense should be licking their chops at the prospect at trying to sack Leftwich. But again this is the Bills defense who was in the bottom half of the league last year in sacks.
