The Buffalo Bills have official named Perry Fewell as interim head coach for the Buffalo Bills. Here is Wilson’s statement on the matters.
“Perry Fewell will be our Interim Head Coach. Perry has done a great job with our defense and has demonstrated excellent leadership skills as Defensive Coordinator. Our players and staff have a lot of confidence in him and that is important as we look forward to these next seven games.”
I know most fans aren’t going to be excited about the move, but what did you expect? When was the last time a team fired a coach in mid-season and brought in a coach from the outside? The good thing about the move is the Bills can at least gage the temperature of other coaches who are out of work and get a jump start on the coaching carousel.
I’ll say this, I’m happy the Bills picked Fewell over Bobby April. The NFL is a young man’s sport and Fewell fits that bill. As for fans clamoring for Bobby April, I could never get behind a guy who has only been a special teams coach for over 20 years.
Now Look, are any of these two going to be on the sidelines next year? No. Does it really mater who the head coach is the reminder of this season? No. I’m just saying that I’d take Fewell over April.
