BTW- Doesn’t Billick look like the villain in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s classic movie Total Recall?
-So it was reported that Brian Billick may be interested in the Bills coaching job. Listening to all the chatter and reading the message boards, it seems that Billick is kind of a lightning rod with Bills fans. Some people love the guy because he’s won a Super Bowl and his defenses were in the top 10 throughout his coaching career. While others hate him because his defense wasn’t suppose to be his main forte in Baltimore. I’ll say this about Billick, he’s a complete a$$hole, which is why I love him! You think he’s the type of coach who will sit tight if he knows Keith Ellison and Karl Malone’s son are his starters? No way! The Bills need a coach who isn’t going to let status quo happen. Billick’s attitude and ego is what the Bills organization needs-
-It seems like every 3 or 4 months we get a story about some developer wanting to move a team to LA. I’m not going to get all up in arms about this latest development that some LA big shot is targeting the Bills to move to LA. Sorry, but you’d be living in a fantasy world if you don’t think the Bills are in danger of moving when Mr. Wilson passes away. I’ve always been Pro-Toronto experiment because of this reason. The NFL is like the Republican Party, they want all big markets and businesses to support their teams. Buffalo just doesn’t fit that mold, but with the help of Toronto it could work out. It’s going to be an ugly time in Buffalo when the auction for the Bills occur-
-So Bobby April quit. I know most Bills fans act as if April was the second coming, but I’m not to sad to see him go. I think fans love April the same way they adored T.O. because he actually had credentials prior to coming to Buffalo. The fact that the Bills had roster spots dedicated to just special teams aces and not to suitable offensive lineman back-ups was absurd. I really hope the team takes April’s coaching money and finds an established offensive coordinator.
-Can the Sabres finally get over the four game winning streak hump? Three times this season the Sabres have reached the four game winning streak plateau, only to get denied for five. The Sabres may be playing their hottest hockey of the season. They finally have a sense of life with Drew Stafford and Tim Connolly. Even Jason Pominville is getting involved. I have a feeling they will break the snide and win five straight games tonight against Tampa Bay-
-If there is one Buffalo Sabre that needs the Olympic Break to come in a hurry, it’s Thomas Vanek. I hate to keep beating a dead horse about the guy, but if the Sabres decide to stay the course at the trade deadline, they are going to need the Thomas Vanek of last year. Maybe having an extended break will do Vanek some good-
-So now it’s being reported by WGR that Billick hasn’t had any contact with the Bills, yet WGRZ-TV is reporting that Billick is contacting Mike Tice and other assistant coaches to form a new staff. I give up! First we get Mike Vick on a plane to Buffalo, then we get a report that Bill Cowher was in Buffalo yesterday. Can we ever get the real story? At least it’s kind of fun to read all these reports. As long as I don’t have to read that Jim Haslett is coming to Buffalo, I’ll be happy-
