20) Who will win the Northeast division?
If you have been placing bets on who will win the Northeast division over the years, I would hope that you didn’t bet on teams who were the regining division champs. Since the lockout, a different team has won the division every single year. The division champions go as followed: Senators, Sabres, Montreal, Boston, Buffalo. I guess this will be the year that the Maple Leafs take home the prize….Um, NOT! However, you can’t ignore how the title has changed hands year in and year out. I think a lot of it has to do with the top 4 teams aren’t really seperated by much in the talent level. This isn’t the Caps vs the Florida teams. The Northeast is a very tough division, where a lot of the teams only have a handful of star players on each squad. Buffalo has Ryan Miller and Thomas Vanek, Ottawa has Alfredson and Spezza, Boston has Savard and Chara, and Montreal has a bunch of guys that don’t seem to be 1st line stars. Anyways, I think think it’s going to be a tight race by the four major teams, but I see Boston coming out on top. The addition of Horton should help their scoring woes and playing their airtight defense, will only make Tuukka Rask play much better. Plus, they have great depth and have experience. I think Montreal and Ottawa have goaltending issues and with the way Boston beat up on the Sabres in the playoffs, I just don’t see the Sabres defending the crown. However, I do see four out of the five teams making the playoffs.
19) Butler or Sekerya?
As of right now, the Sabres have 8 defensemen that they have decided to keep on their roster. Yeah…I don’t get it either. Anyways, if you were to look at least year’s squad, it always seemed like Lindy Ruff was alternating butler and Sekerya. Frankly, botg
