Buffalowins.com has learned that Kevyn Adams has agreed to a contract to join Lindy Ruff’s coaching staff. Adams, who has been working with the Sabres for over a year as the team’s development coach, is viewed as a rising star within the Sabres organization. This doesn’t come as a complete shock, as I’ve been hearing for the last month or so that Adams was going to be the eventual replacement for McCutcheon. Per source, the players really like him and the rest of the coaching staff likes his attention to detail. His rise in the coaching ranks is what really made McCutcheon expendable.
The Sabres may also not be done adding to staff. Two sources have told me that there’s a good possibility that Mike Foligno will join the staff as well, giving the Sabres three assistant coaches (James Patrick, Adams and Foligno) for next year.
