@BuffaloWins If Russ Brandon leaves when the team is sold, what are your best and worst memories of his tenure with the team?

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsIts too bad I’ve always had a lot of disdain towards Russ as my opinion of him is slightly biased. Through the Bills losing years, he’s been the one constant next to Ralph Wilson. He’s just the ultimate spin master in terms of providing valor quotes about change.
My best memory? Probably being involved with the lease and signing TO and Mario. Hey, those players didn’t do much in terms of winning, but at least we were exciting for the offseason.
Worst memories? Gosh, pick a number. I’d go with the Toronto series. That was a fricken joke. I’m not sure how much he had in that, but since he was the mouthpiece for the series, he gets the blame for that. Also, telling fans Ralph Wilson Stadium was the Fenway Park of the NFL still makes me laugh. Oh, and throw in him trying to preach continuity in terms of saving Dick Jauron/Chan Gailey’s jobs.

I think the McMahons would have to be the Dallas Cowboys. Arrogant and always about themselves. The Patriots would have to be John Cena. You can’t kill them off no matter how much you hate them. Brock Lesnar is Peyton Manning. Just the best at their craft. The Belle Twins are the Buffalo Jills..as in no one cares about them. The Bills would pretty much be 3-man band. Just a bunch of jobbers. Rex Ryan would definitely be Paul Heyman..LOUD MOUTHS!
@BuffaloWins What do you make of the lack of competition at the LG spot. Williams has been average at best but they provide no comp for him

Ugh. This seems to be a reoccurring theme for the Bills over the years. They refuse to pay a player (Peters, Clements, Levitre, and Byrd) and then replace them with a bunch of unproven guys who don’t exactly instill confidence. Its early and until Glenn plays the jury is still out, but the line seems to have fallen off a cliff in terms of where they were two years ago. When you have 3-4 spots up for grabs, you have issues.
As for who should be at guard…I liked Kraig Urbik the last few years, but they seem to be hell bent on trying to get rid of him. You then have Erik Pears, who is being thrown in at guard. It just seems like a giant game of offensive line Jenga. I thought about Pears being the guy, but to move back to guard after not playing the position since 2010, leaves me queasy. I’d have Urbik and Cyril Richardson as my guards. If Henderson is your RT, I want at least some veteran presence on the OL besides Eric Wood, hence why I have Urbik. I have zero confidence in Chris Williams as he was a disaster in St. Louis last year.
Anyways, I think we are going to have one of those “The Bills had a record X amount of starting line combinations this season” and I’d set the over/under at 8.
Andrew Garrigan- Will Roman Reigns be pushed enough to beat Brock Lesnar?
It sure seems like that’s the direction they are going in. Reigns has the look and he’s a decent big man, but he really needs more mic time to really be considered one of the big boys. He needs to have more charisma if he’s going to be a face. To me, they should go the heel route with him. My idea would be a double turn. Have Heyman double cross Lesnar and then manage Reigns because he’s the future and the next big thing. Unless Roman cuts sick promos between now and Mania, I just see him as a monster heel.
John-If Marcell Dareus has a subpar year, should he be traded or released?
I don’t think Dareus will have a subpar year since he’s coming off his best year. Obviously with the crap going off the field, the Bills should probably wait to extend him until next off season. As I’ve maintained since the beginning of time, I don’t care what a player does off the field as long as they are here on Sundays and playing well. You don’t trade or release players who are preforming well and were drafted in the top 3.
Matt- Is Spiller trade bait?
The Spiller stuff is very interesting. Let’s retrace our steps since last season. You got Marrone, who at times decided not to play Spiller because he was dancing too much and not hitting the hole fast enough. Then there was the rumor the Bills were looking into Chris Johnson. We also had the Bills trying to trade up in the 2nd round to select a RB. Factor in the Bryce Brown trade and there’s a lot of smoke there.
I think if the Bills are slow out of the gates and are like 2-6 or whatever, they should trade him, especially since we aren’t sure they will re-sign him. I tend to think they will let him go, so, you may as well get something for him. However, I don’t see it being a big haul. Maybe a late 3rd round pick. Only way you’d trade him earlier is if you get an established starter who can play right now and help the team.
Highly unlikely since RBs are worth dick in the trade market.
