Bills 14, Tennessee 13 alone wouldn’t say much if you just looked at the box score. However, watching the team that played most of the game compared to the team in the last quarter and change was to me like watching two different games. The first game, a slow affair marred by miscues on offense and the defense slowly running out of gas; in the second game, a team that figured out that their quarterback was going to have to lead them out of a hostile territory with a win. Let’s boogie.
- Tyrod Making Moves – Tyrod, on a bum ankle and after having been bent like a pretzel on a 3rd and 23 scramble not only scampered for a dazzling touchdown, but dropped a dime to Hogan for 46 yards as well. While fans, myself included wanted to see more out of him, I am of the mindset that: 1. Taylor’s ankle even pre-pretzel play has been hurt enough to hamper his ability to scramble; and 2. the offensive line is allowing way too much pressure in the A gaps (between the center) and on the right side. He looked like a million bucks however on his touchdown:

- The Thin Blue Line – The more I see him this year, the more I think that Seantrel Henderson may not ever put it all together. A penalty like a false start isn’t that bad to me, but the hold vs Morgan where he stopped moving his feet and essentially waist-bended throughout was bothersome. While the line on the whole didn’t bring their ‘A’ game (or *shudders* maybe they did) I would hope that after Kromer gets back we see a marked difference in the offensive line. Happy thoughts!
- Not So Special Teams – Last year, I was the guy that complained (constantly) that Danny Crossman’s less than stellar record should have lead to concern. He acquitted himself well and the Bills thrived as a result, with the penalties on special teams being a feast-or-famine situation. Now, partly because of the NFL and partly because of personnel I think that the constant penalties and overall gaffes leaves me wanting more. In particular, cutting Marcus Thigpen for Denarius Moore seems to be a loss, with Moore’s fumble looming large as a mistake that could’ve cost the Bills the game in a tight-knit affair.
- Gilmore’s Removing All Doubt – I don’t know if you have that friend, or that follower (or for those in media that caller) that constantly tells you “how bad” Gilmore is, but a game like today needs to be your rebuttal. The interception at the end was the statistical exclamation point to a game where he worked the receivers in their breaks with total control of the field. Other than a pass interference call that was warranted given his handsiness, I was quite impressed with Gilmore’s coverage and his ability to fill in the run game. With his 5th year option next season, similar to Jerry Hughes Stephon is making that final extension number higher and higher with each performance. Good on you sir.
- What’s Going On With Bradham? – As the 2015 season rolls on, one of the biggest things that is sticking out to me is the performance of Nigel Bradham. As if seeing his missed tackle vs the Giants on every game due to it being some sort of play of the week, watching him at times out of position was a bit of a disappointment. Doubly so because he’s in a contract year. I’m hoping that it’s just (re) adjusting to the scheme and there’s some sort of injury as well – because as it stands now I’d put the list of FA’s for 2016 as Harvin, Glenn, Incognito, Bradham.
And as always, let’s take a little dive in the ole Tweet Bag:
@BuffaloWins @RDotDeuce Rich, why do we subject ourselves to this nonsense?

As always my man, appreciated. I think the biggest thing is the siren song of hope – we know that at some point they can’t be bad forever. At some point there is going to be a time where they become successful. And I think I (and you and most fans) want to be there when that happens having had that “suffering card” filled as much as it is, so that when they do hit it big, the joy will be that much better. Heck of a drug, long story short.
@RDotDeuce @BuffaloWins is winning ugly & having played a terrible game a sign that the #Bills are actually a good team?

Rich, I think you’re right. Watching the game live I was pulling out what hair I have because I wanted to see…more out of he team. However, a win’s a win and winning ugly is something to be appreciated. If anything, seeing Tyrod win his first road game with a late comeback was pretty cool in hindsight. During the process though? That was nightmare fuel….
Alrighty folks, that’s it for this evening. If you have anything to say, hit me up here in the comments or via Twitter at RDoTDeuce.
Until next time, it’s been One Fan(n)’s Opinion. Go Bills!
