I have an important confession to make to you all. I enjoy M. Night Shyamalan movies far more than I let on. So when the Bills announced to the media their new OTA/Training Camp/Practice rules, I chuckled and thought, “this is just like the Village”.

For those that don’t know – The Village was a movie made by Shyamalan in 2004 in which villagers in the 19th century were forbidden to go into a forest for fear that monsters would get them. As with any M. Night movie there’s more to this than meets the eye – and despite it being 12 years after the fact I won’t spoil it.
But the fact remains – the Buffalo Bills in 2016 want their media to cover them at the speed of tweet and say – nothing. No injuries. No completion percentages. No drops. The names have to be changed to protect the innocent (or guilty). The next time there’s a seat change or a retired number, sure, media can cover to their heart’s content. Until then, better seen and not heard/read.
That starting QB who’s lighting it up? Leave that to One Bills Drive to tell you in a sterilized video. Who’s rushing the passer in place of the guy who was supposed to replace the “not #AllIn” guy? Can’t tell – state secrets.
Pegulas just did what you wanted, Mike. https://t.co/3dwltj9ZFP

This is the other side of that coin – media members who felt it was their civic duty to complain ad nauseum about the fact they had to cover these events. Be happy Mike – your long national nightmare is over! Rejoice!

While the new rules are dumb, as most sports things are, putting it up to this level is a bit much.
