The Boston Red Sox will honored one of its most legendary members by naming a bridge after David Ortiz in the Fenway neighborhood.
Boston revealed the Big Papi Bridge on Twitter in one portion of a farewell note to the legend:

The Big Papi Bridge will be over the Mass Pike on Brookline Ave.

A bridge and a road in Boston in Boston have been named for David Ortiz. The Gov. and Mayor come out with the new signs.

The Red Sox will also retire Ortiz’s number next season in an official goodbye ceremony.
For now, Ortiz and the legions of Red Sox faithful will have to celebrate his historic career by crossing over the newly minted bridge, conveniently close to Fenway Park.
