04/27 Recap Giants -4 Indians 1.

The Indians drop a tough game to the Giants on Sunday, losing 4-1 on a walk-off 3-run HR from Brandon Hicks. By losing this contest, the Tribe got swept for the first time to the Giants since the 1954 World Series.

Player Of The Game:

Danny Salazar faced 26 batters and only walked 1. He kept the prolific Giants offense at “bay” long enough for the Indians to tie the game in the 8th. This was an encouraging start.

Feathers Up:

Yan Gomes launched a leadoff homer off Casilla in the 8th inning to tie the game at 1. Gomes’ blast ended a 52-inning homer-less drought for the Indians. The last home run for Tribe was Kipnis’ 2-run shot in 6th inning on Monday.

Feathers Down:

Despite how well Danny Salazar pitched (7 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 8 K, 101 (66)), he earned a no-decision on the afternoon.

The Indians 4-5-6 hitters this series (Santana, Brantley & Cabrera) were a combined 0-for-28 with 5 walks. They added nothing this game either.

The club went 2-for-20 with runners in scoring position and scored just five runs in the three losses in San Francisco. Gomes’ HR was the only run scored by the Indians in Sunday afternoon’s game.

Final Score: Cleveland Indians 1 – San Francisco Giants 4
