Player of the Game:

Carlos Santana is trying to become a legend in Cleveland. He had his second mutli-HR game of the series this afternoon as the Indians routed the Royals 10-3. For Santana, he now has three HR’s in his last five games. In his past 13 plate appearances, Carlos Santana has 1 1 walks, 1 double, 1 HBP, 3 BB, 5 HR and 8 RBI. This is also Santana’s second Player of the Game award in three the last games. Santana launched 2 homers and Salazar turned in 7 solid innings, leading the Tribe to the victory. On the road trip, they went 5-6. Not bad.

Feathers Up:

Santana started his multi-HR game with a two-run homer (19th of year) that put the Indians up 5-2 on Royals in 5th inning. This was a huge hit, as it solidified the Indians comeback

Ryan Raburn launched a leadoff HR off Royals starter Bruce Chen to straightaway center to give the Indians a 6-2 lead in the 6th. It was nice to see Raburn leave the yard again; reminded me of last season.

Nick Swisher snapped out of his 0-21 skid with an RBI single to right in the 7th.

Santana hit his second HR of the game in the 9th inning to add some unnecessary insurance runs which put the Indians ahead 9-3.

Yan Gomes followed Santana’s second HR of the game with his first of the series. Have the Indians found the perfect hitter to follow Santana in the lineuep?

Feathers Down:

The Indians avoided a four-game sweep to a division foe. Should there be any feathers down?

On Deck:

The Indians will have an off-day tomorrow before starting an important three-game series against the Seattle Mariners . The Tribe are 2 1/2 games behind the Mariners in the A.L. Wild Card race with a whole bunch of teams jumbled together.
