In honor of the Indians All-Star, second baseman Jason Kipnis, BurningRiverBaseball is taking the day before the All-Star game to recognize his efforts from this and previous seasons. Much like Nick Swisher Day from 2014 (only nothing like that), we will go back and look at some of the things said about Kipnis since he was in AAA in 2011. Throughout the day, there will be three “Best of” articles with brand new commentary and finally a new piece to really appreciate Kipnis for what he has done for the Indians so far in 2015.
For some early reading, the three best of articles commented on will be one Mike Melaragno wrote in July of 2011 called the The Team is Ready for Kipnis, a jump-the-gun article I wrote early in 2013 about a short slump and one from the end of 2013 asking for the Indians to extend Kipnis, which they did during that off-season.
