Puck Dumps 12/24/14

What everyone is talking about
Not many sites were updating this morning, what with Christmas right around the corner and any red blooded North American getting ready to take the week off. Still, Canada, universally known to be full of deadbeats and heathens, would like to discuss Toronto’s win yesterday. CBC, TSN

Scoreboard
Boston 5, Nashville 3 – I’m just so happy that Boston isn’t going to have to endure the holiday worried about the Bruins.

Toronto 4, Dallas 0 – Johnathan Bernier gives the Maple Leafs a shutout for Christmas

Philadelphia 5, Minnesota 2 – The Wild right now are in a nasty stretch. You could even say it blows.

Carolina 2, New Jersey 1 (SO) – Look at what the Hurricanes pulled out of their chimney. ASAS

Montreal 3, New York Islanders 1 – Brendan Gallagher got the game winning goal. He’s short, like an elf.

New York Rangers 4, Washington 2 – Rick Nash had a good game and quietly has 22 goals on the season. Like, so quiet that you would think no creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

Detroit 6, Buffalo 3 – The Sabres D is going on the naughty list.

Tampa Bay 4, Pittsburgh 3 – You would think that I would have a good Penguins joke to go along with the theme, but Penguins don’t live on the North Pole.

Colorado 5, St Louis 0 – Paul Stastny getting waxed in Denver must feel like he was visited by the Ghost of Christmas Past.

Arizona 5, Edmonton 1  – The Oilers would probably like to take a sleigh ride away from this season.

Winnipeg 5, Chicago 1 – The Blackhawks get a lump of coal, but Jets fans will be rocking around the Christmas tree.

Tweet of the Moment

When I hear the name “Babs” I immediately think of the girl rabbit from Tiny Toons. Is that weird? Maybe. But it’s pretty funny to think of the Red Wings being coached by this.
