This past weekend, Forest Park held the 4th annual LouFest. It was the biggest one yet and the only festival that gets to use the crown jewel park of St. Louis every summer.
Truth be told, I'm not quite yet recovered, but I didn't want to leave you hanging on some reviews… because, you know, where the hell else are you going to get music reviews but on Cards Diaspora?
Suck it Pitchfork.
We've embedded a Spotify playlist with some of the bands bigger hits, just in case you want to check out some music you missed.
And since "reading" is super boring, let's keep each review to one sentence.
Wilco: Dud of a show; headliners need to bring the heat at music festivals not tuck everyone into bed.
The Killers: Brandon Flowers may or may not know what a football is, but his crowd pandering was a touchdown.
Alabama Shakes: You ever listen to their songs, like deeply, because man, they don't seem positive sometimes.
Edward Sharp and The Magnetic Zeros: Murdered it.
Fitz and the Tantrums: Couldn't help wonder just how insane this exact show, but in the Pageant would have been.
The National: So people are getting into this, huh?
Walk The Moon: Expect big things from these dudes and expect it soon.
Jim James: Didn't see one second of this show and can't be positive he actually played.
Space Capone: Deserved better than the side stage in the middle of the day with those super tight horns.
Icona Pop: Badass, until the guy next to said they were lip-syncing and ruined everything.
Court Yard Hounds: Making Natalie Maines more $$$ by the performance.
Plus we had some other bands that I know I'll get killed for not mentioning, but I tried my best to get around to as many stages as possible .
