Jupiter, Florida is the spring training home to the Cardinals (and Marlins).
With a population of just a tick over 60,000 people, you’d expect that this March migration of professional athletes would be the high-water mark when it comes to randomly bumping into sports playing celebs.
Turns out that may not be true.
Recently the Wall Street Journal looked into the booming real estate market in Jupiter and discovered that it’s all of a sudden become the epicenter of the PGA universe.
There are at least 28 players on the PGA Tour who reside within a roughly 20-mile stretch of land along the Atlantic Ocean, just north of Palm Beach. The list includes Tiger Woods and three of the world’s top 10 players: Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler and Dustin Johnson.
Talent attracts talent. Young and old.
Hall of Famers Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Greg Norman and Nick Price all have homes here, along with several other members of golf’s senior circuit, the Champions Tour. The area has also attracted a slew of younger players vying for PGA Tour cards and eight women who play on the LPGA Tour.
Heck, Tiger has even opened a restaurant in Jupiter called The Woods Jupiter.
Head over to the link above to check out the whole piece, if you’re interested.
And if you’re planning a trip down to spring training, be on the lookout for your favorite PGA/LPGA pro. There’s a good chance that your eyes aren’t lying… that really is them.
