Hopefully you had a chance to catch some #MACtion on Wednesday night as Buffalo played Kent State. Now let’s take a look at the other games that you should be watching this week….
Thurs, Sept 20th
BYU (2-1) at Boise State (1-1), 9 PM (ESPN)
This is an important game for both teams since they each come in with a loss on their record. BYU is probably a bit less confident after losing to Utah and Boise State has had a chance to get their feet under them since falling to Michigan State to start the season. It will take a special effort from the Cougs if they want to topple the Broncos on the blue field.
Friday, Sept 21st
Baylor (2-0) at ULM (1-1), 8 PM (ESPN)
Who is this ULM team and why are they in the National spotlight every week? They beat Arkansas two weeks ago and lost to Auburn in OT last week. No it’s the post-RG3 Baylor Bears and it’s actually a home game for the Warhawks. Phil Bennett and this Baylor defense better be ready for Kolton Browning.
Saturday, Sept 22nd
Kentucky (1-2) at Florida (3-0), Noon (SEC Network)
The noon games are a dog this weekend. Maryland/WVU might be fun if you liking beatdowns, Virginia/TCU contains a little interest and UTEP/Wisky might be your choice if you want to see if the Badgers can turn the corner. I would advise you to watch the Gators and Wildcats. Last week, the Gators had a huge win over Tennessee and Kentucky got embarrassed by WKU. Sounds like a mis-match but it could also be a huge trap game. And if it’s a blowout then play some video games, drink some Terrapin or go outside and get some fresh air before the 3:30 games start.
Missouri (2-1) at South Carolina (3-0), 3:30 PM (CBS)
Let’s stay in the SEC and let’s see how the Gamecocks do against Missouri in the Tigers first road SEC game. Will the starting QBs in this game be healthy? Can Missouri find a running game? Will the suspension of DJ Swearinger hurt the Gamecocks? This is a big game for the SEC East as Spurrier needs to keep pace with Mark Richt and company. The two games you should watch during the commercials are Oregon St/UCLA and Miami/Georgia Tech.
Michigan (2-1) at Notre Dame (3-0), 7:30 PM (NBC)
Notre Dame put themselves back on the map last week against a team from Michigan. Will a different team for the same state put them back in their place this week? College Football is better when these two teams are competitive. Notre Dame looks to stay undefeated and the Wolverines are still looking to bounce back from getting slapped in the mouth in week one by Alabama.
Clemson (3-0) at Florida State (3-0), 8 PM (ABC)
It’s going to be really hard to watch two games at once (or three in my case since I will be glued to Vandy/Georgia) but I can’t leave this game off the list. FSU hasn’t played very tough competition this year but they did roll over a Wake Forest team that they’ve lost to in the recent past. Clemson could be the only thing standing between FSU and an undefeated season (yes, I know it’s early). Flip between this and Michigan/ND.
While Clemson/FSU and Michigan/Notre Dame is going on, there is another top 25 match-up that you should keep your eye on: Kansas State/Oklahoma. That one will go a long way to determining the Big 12 race.
Arizona (3-0) at Oregon (3-0), 10:30 PM (ESPN)
RichRod has started out with a bang so far at Arizona. Now he gets to play the most explosive offense in the Nation. Good luck with that.
