Bowl season is finally here. For some this is an exciting thing and for others, well, they could give or take bowl season. Personally, I enjoy it. I probably won't watch every game but I'm going to try and take in as many as I can as it's a great indicator of where these teams are headed going into 2014 (especially from a personnel perspective).

Here are the picks with links to previews that I did for Crystal Ball Run….

New Mexico Bowl: Washington State vs. Colorado State

Current Line: Wazzu by 4.5

I'm very interested to see if either defense can stop the opposing offense in this game. I think the Cougars will pull out a tight one.

Pick: Washington State 38 Colorado State 35

Las Vegas Bowl: Fresno State vs. USC

Current Line: USC by 6

Fresno State has a dynamic offense and an anemic defense. So the question for me is if USC shows up or not. They will have the talent edge, but will they want to be here?

Pick: Fresno State 42 USC 31

Potato Bowl: Buffalo vs. San Diego State

Current Line: SDSU by 1

Both of these teams have been up and down this season. With the exception of the UNLV loss, SDSU has played well to finish the season and they play better on the road (than Buffalo). I'll take the Aztecs but if you are a degenerate gambler, I'd advise you to stay away from this game.

Pick: SDSU 35 Buffalo 31

New Orleans Bowl: Tulane vs. UL Lafayette

Current Line: Tulane by 1.5

Mark Hudspeth is 2-0 in the last two New Orleans Bowls. The biggest question for me is the health of Terrance Broadway. Will he play or not? Tulane has been a great story this year but I'm not sure they can pull this one off. Along with the New Mexico Bowl, this is the game I'm most interested in on Saturday.

Pick: Louisiana 28 Tulane 24
