Game Notes: It looked really bad for the Red Sox for six innings Monday night. We were about to drop the first game of a home series vs. the 59-loss Royals, but Doug Mirabelli had other plans. The horrendous KC bullpen lost a great performance by Luke Hudson and the Sox battled back for a huge 5-4 win. That’s right, a July game vs. KC was HUGE. The Sox remain in first and point to rotation-saving Jon Lester for another W. Also, get well Timmy. Like in the next four days.
