08/30: Even Well-Pitched Games Do Not Break Our
Way PRIOR GAME AGAINST OPPONENT: Red Sox 0, Oakland 9 on 8/28/06
DECISION: W: Kirk Saarloos | L: Josh Beckett | S: Justin Duchscherer
STAR OF THE GAME: Josh Beckett – 7 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 K

GAME NOTES: The positives: Josh Beckett pitched well. The negatives: The lineup and we lost.
I really hesitate to say it’s time to pack it in, with Pena, Ramirez, Ortiz, Nixon, Wakefield and Lester all due back shortly, but at the same time, I’m really excited to see the prospect we get in return from David Wells. So let’s just keep playing it out … if we trade Wells and contend, we’ll worry about that later.
