Phillies’ closer Jonathan Papelbon has been named as their lone All-Star in the 2015 All-Star game. The ASG will take place on July 14th at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnatti, Ohio.
This is Paps 6th career All-Star game, and his 2nd as a Phillie. The 34-year old righty is a perfect 14/14 this year, as he’s allowed just 6 earned runs in 32.2 innings, which is good for a 1.65 ERA.
The fact that Papelbon now has that All-Star phrase tagged to his name will hopefully slightly bu,p up his trade value. Remember, the trade deadline is July 31st.
