Some Saturday Links

I’m at home instead of being out so I’ll provide some links for you tonight.

In today’s edition of the Dallas Morning News, Barry Horn speaks to the reunited team of Brad Sham and Babe Laufenberg who are back calling Cowboys games on the radio. Charlie Waters was Brad’s partner last season.

Over to the Sports Media Watch blog, where we get some updates on Dan Patrick, Rece Davis and Keith Olbermann.

Neil Best blogged today which is always a bonus. In one of today’s entries, Neil says Barry’s game on Monday will be on ESPN and discusses the cut-in strategy for the MLB network partners for Bonds’ at-bats.

The Phoenix Suns become the first team to have its entire regular season broadcast in HiDef.

David Beckham won’t start in his MLS debut, but most likely will be a sub. Can ESPN hype this game more? And have Bonnie Bernstein on a red carpet at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA? This is way too much for a guy who’s not starting.

More on former NBA referee Tim Donaghy who’s been named by ESPN.com and CBS.Sportsline.com as the target of a Federal investigation into alleged betting on games in which he was involved. Murray Weiss who broke the story Friday, has another one today with Stephanie Cohen and Patrick Gallahue stating that the mob blackmailed Donaghy to keep him in their mix. K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune says there’s one game in question that involved the Bulls.

Oh god, Katie Holmes with baby Surrie is at the Galaxy game along with Eva Longoria and who else? Victoria Beckham. Could we care any less? Will Dr. Tom Cruise be far behind with the Scientology bandwagon to convert the Beckhams?

Ok, back to links, Chris Easterling of the Massillon (OH) Independent writes that Big Ten Network President Mark Silverman is confident that deals with cable companies will get done. Seth Gruen of the Marion (IN) Chronicle-Tribune says viewers in Grant County, Indiana will have to find a way to see BTN games if they have it on cable or not.

That will do it. If I have time to do links tomorrow, I will. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your weekend.
