Late Tuesday Update

I’ll give you a few links this afternoon.

First, an excellent entry by Paulsen from the Sports Media Watch blog on the 6th Anniversary of 9/11 and its impact on sports.

In his Morning Buzz blog, John Ryan of the San Jose Mercury News reviews the ESPN Mike Greenberg/Mike Golic/Mike Ditka team that did the Cardinals-49ers game last night. I felt Greenie was a bit monotone during the game. Not stellar. Not good. Not bad. Average.

Andrew Logue of the Des Moines Register writes that the Iowa-Iowa State annual rivalry game this Saturday is being picked up by Versus.

Adam Mertz in the UW Gridiron Grind blog of the Capital (WI) Times asks readers how they plan to watch the Wisconsin-The Citadel game this Saturday, plus he reports talks between the Big Ten Network and Charter Communications have not produced an agreement.

Get ready to see the Go Daddy.com girls more than once a year on the Super Bowl. Go Daddy.com will sponsor ESPN college football according to Jane Larson of the Arizona Republic.

Newsday’s Neil Best writes that ESPN’s Chris Berman still misses doing “NFL Primetime”. I’m not a Berman fan, but Primetime was when he was at his best. Best also likes NBC’s Al Michaels on Sunday Night Football (and notes he was once a Newsday paperboy).

CNBC’s Darren Rovell tries to look at the bright side of the Notre Dame-Michigan matchup, which has become a dud as both schools are 0-2 (first time both are 0-2 at the same time). By the way, I wish good luck to ESPN/ABC in trying to promote this game.

CSTV will begin its live SEC pregame show from the CBS Game of the Week this Saturday.

CBS Sports is touting the fact that the NFL Today beat Fox NFL Sunday for the first time.

That’s it for now.
